Vinyl Records at Razzle Dazzle: What to Expect

As part of our "Know Before You Go" series, we're breaking down exactly what you can expect from our vinyl record section.

Two common questions we get are: "Do you sell records?" and "Do you buy records?" Let's take them one at a time, starting at the very beginning.

We Sell New Vinyl Records

It didn't always look this way. When we opened, the vinyl section was pretty modest with around 100 records on opening day, and that number got whittled down fast. If you stopped by around the holidays and walked away a little underwhelmed, we completely understand. Please give us another shot. A lot has changed.

New Arrivals Every Friday

Since early January, we've been putting out fresh vinyl every single Friday, and the selection has grown into something we're genuinely proud of. If new arrivals are what you're after, head to the far right side of the rack and look for the new arrival indicators — that's where the fresh stock lands. Things are always shifting around, but that's your best bet for first dibs on what just came in.

A Tour of the Racks

Starting from the far left and working our way across:

Punk, Alternative & Offbeat Rock: This section has a strong lineup of the raw, weird, and more fringed-out side of rock. We're talking Black Flag to Green Day, Thee Oh Sees to Turnstile, with the Pixies, Mudhoney, Reverend Horton Heat, Nirvana, and plenty more in between.

Heavy Music: The big names are here: Metallica, Slayer, and a solid block of nu-metal in the form of Korn, Deftones, and Rage Against the Machine. You'll also find a good chunk of Relapse Records releases alongside Sleep Token, Ozzy, and a whole lot more. It's a little all over the place in the best way possible.

Rock: This is the catch-all of catch-alls featuring indie rock, pop rock, classic rock, instrumental — if it's broadly "rock" and doesn't fit neatly elsewhere, it's probably here.

Country: A modest, but meaningful selection where you'll find your Garths, Johnnys, Kaceys, and Shanias. The essentials are covered.

Everything else lands in the Blues, Soul, Funk & Reggae section.

Pop, Dance & Electronic Music: It's all over the place here, and it's eclectic as hell.

Soundtracks: Because sometimes the score is the whole point.

Rap & Hip Hop: Rounding things out on the far end of the rack with beats and bars.

Do We Sell Used Records?

As of right now we sure don't.

Do We Buy Records?

Short answer: Not at this time. We appreciate you asking, though!

It's coming together nicely over here, and we're adding to it every week. For more, check out the other videos in our "Know Before You Go" series on YouTube, and stop by Lindale Mall to see what's waiting for you in the vinyl section this week!
