Sell Your Music in Cedar Rapids
Thank you for considering Razzle Dazzle Music & Movies as a buyer for your music collection! We pay cash and strive to pay fair, competitive prices for any CDs and cassette tapes. (And even some vinyl records, too!) If you're curious how to sell your music to us, the quick and easy answer is: Bring your items in person or send a message below with specifics about what it is you're trying to sell or trade.
Here's a little more about what we consider when making an offer:
Condition: Preferably CDs and vinyl records will be scratch free or have a very small amount of light surface scratching that will not affect playback. Do items have original cover art? Do they have any pen markings, cracks, rips, tears, sticker residue, marker, or other signs of heavy use or wear? These are all considerations that will impact the value of an item, with many being deal-breakers (such as smoke, water, and mold damage).
Desirability of the items: It's important to consider how common or rare an item might be and what the market is for it. Even the best collections turn up common and hard-to-sell titles, which we're unlikely to be able to sell. Is the item long out of print, a special edition, or does it have any other unique qualities? If an item is truly collectable, in great condition, and in demand, we can pay a premium for it! If not, we can't. Please note, we do not accept any 8-track tapes, vintage 45s, 78s, or reel-to-reel tapes, and are primarily seeking modern and popular vinyl and cassette titles on a select basis (*see below).
Collection size: Please keep in mind that the larger the collection the more time it takes to process. Also consider whether you're looking to sell everything or if we can pick and choose; it's worth noting as a large volume of less desirable titles can potentially negatively impact the overall offer for a collection.
What we pay: It's incredibly helpful if you know what you want for the items you're trying to sell. There is no standard one-size-fits-all approach to pricing as what we'll pay is best determined on an individual item basis, and we cannot make an offer until we see your items in person. In full transparency, when buying we have a bias toward modern titles as well as new and unique releases. If an item is collectible, uncommon, out-of-print, or brand new sealed, it will garner a premium.
Store Credit: If you would prefer to get the most out of your trade-in, we offer store credit in lieu of cash. Typically this ranges from 1.25x to 2x whatever our cash offer is for your items.
*A quick note about pricing and condition of vinyl records. For a more thorough explanation of how to grade records and how grading impacts an item’s value, please see either Discogs’ website or Goldmine’s Grading Guide. In a nutshell: The better condition an item is in, the more it’s worth; the more damage it has, the less it's worth.
