On Barnes & Noble's 50% Off Sales
If you've been shopping boutique Blu-ray and 4k releases at Razzle Dazzle Music & Movies you are going to notice something different when the shop opens back up this Friday; that being: the prices got lower.
I'm asked regularly if I will be price matching when Barnes & Noble runs their 50% off sales or even the sales the individual companies run, which range anywhere from 30-50% off retail. The answer is still "no," but I've done some work on the pricing to keep those consistently competitive, and not just during flash sales but on a every day basis.
In general, the ballpark you're going to see about 25% off retail across the board on everything. I'd already been pricing the Vinegar Syndrome stuff at about that anyway so there really won't be much of a change to that stuff, but you'll see the biggest change with Criterion (and then I'll also with Arrow Video).
This is the best I can do but here's one other thing I can add: Every time you pick up a new boutique Blu-ray or 4k priced $14.85 or more (so, 15 bucks) you're also going to get a free pre-owned DVD priced anywhere from @2.85 to $4.85. Pretty much, when you spend $15 you get a free $5, so you're going to get a strong everyday price at the shop on premium editions with a little extra value - it's a lower base price, a free movie, and zero gimmicks.
